Breaking Bad Season 4

The best show on television is back for a fourth season and from what I?ve seen from the first three episodes so far?this program is far from breaking bad.

The 411
After last season?s cliffhanger, the first episode didn?t take long to deliver some answers. I?m always sensitive to those who DVR, so I won?t reveal anything at this point. However, if you haven?t seen the series premiere of Breaking Bad yet, what the hell are you waiting for?

I will say that it is quite clear that Walter (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul) are continuing on their path to self-destruction. They both don?t see it coming, but I think the difference between the two is that Jesse doesn?t care and almost welcomes it, while Walt is trying his best to preserve his life?which in the end is eventually going to lead to his demise, (IMHO).

The Good
Everything about this show is good from the writing to the production. The acting is superb and every cast member does a fantastic job bringing their character to life. Who would?ve ever thought that the dad from Malcolm in the Middle could be so bad ass?

Each character on the show has purpose and the actors (combined with the excellent scripts) do such a phenomenal job of invoking the viewer?s emotions. The one standout performance this season among the many is Hank (Dean Norris). To see a man who was once so full of life and on top of the world reduced to a dependent, rock-collecting (sorry, I mean minerals) recluse who is now at the mercy of the bed pan below his buttocks is just so depressing.

The Not-So-Good
Normally I would leave this space blank for a show like Breaking Bad, however, I feel inclined to just make a brief mention. I just want to say after watching the first three episodes that the writing is getting a little predictable. Still absolutely love the show, but I?m just not 100% feeling it so far. I?m at about 95%, but Breaking Bad has set the level of my expectations so high that even the slightest downturn in the storyline has me second-guessing myself.

The End Result
Hands-down, still the best show on television. Even though I think the show is starting to get a little predictable, I would still watch every episode until the rumored end of the series next year (fifth season). I love the acting and respect the writing too much to not see this show out and will continue to ?accidentally? delete whatever my wife has scheduled to record on the DVR so I can watch this bad boy live.
